FAQ
Questions before you earn bread?
What is AdsOnBread?
AdsOnBread is a browser extension ad network. Developers add the SDK to approved extensions, and advertisers run approved campaigns into contextual placements.
Where does the name come from?
The name comes from BRowser Extension ADs. That spells bread, and developers can earn bread with AdsOnBread.
Does everything need approval first?
Yes. New developers, advertisers, extensions, and campaigns are reviewed before they can participate in live ad delivery.
Do you track users?
No cross-site user profiles, no invasive tracking, and no SDK storage. Delivery uses ad format and contextual campaign matching.
Can developers control ad formats?
Yes. You can enable card and banner formats per extension from the developer setup page.
What are the ad creative specs?
Advertisers upload one 96 x 96 icon, write up to 130 characters of plain text, and choose linked text ranges that use the HTTPS campaign URL. See the creative specs.
What is the payout minimum?
The payout minimum is $25 in pending earnings. Earnings below the minimum simply roll over — nothing expires, and you can request a payout as soon as your pending balance crosses $25.
When do payouts happen?
Payouts are sent on the 10th of each month. Earnings accrue daily as your extensions deliver impressions, and the current month’s earnings stay pending until the 10th of the following month. Request a payout from the Payouts page once you pass the $25 minimum, and it is included in the next monthly run.
How do developers get paid?
PayPal or Wise for now. Save the email you want us to use from the Payouts page in your developer portal. Receipts for completed payouts are also available there, so you have a record for accounting.
Is AdsOnBread compliant with the Chrome Web Store ad policy?
Yes. AdsOnBread is designed to comply with the Chrome Web Store ads program policies. Ads are clearly labeled as ads and rendered inside your extension's own UI — whether that UI lives in a popup, sidebar, options page, new-tab page, or a panel your extension already injects into a webpage. Ads never obscure or interfere with a webpage's own content or ads.
How many ads can I show?
Display at most one AdsOnBread ad at a time on any given page. You can run ads across multiple extension surfaces — popup, sidebar, options page, new-tab page — as long as each page shows only one ad at once. You may also show an ad inside a third-party webpage if and only if your extension already injects its own UI into that page, with the ad rendered inside that injected UI. Never inject standalone ads into webpages or interfere with a site’s own content or ads.
How does advertiser billing work?
Advertisers add funds through Stripe. The available balance only updates after Stripe confirms the payment webhook.
Can I hide ads from pro users of my extension?
Yes. Whether to show ads to pro or paying users of your extension is entirely at your discretion. Many developers show ads only on the free tier and hide them for pro users as a paid perk.
Can I book a call with your team?
Yes. Reach out to support@adsonbread.com and our team will set up a call to walk through campaign setup, targeting, and creative review.
What metrics can I see?
Your advertiser dashboard shows total spend, available balance, and active campaign count at a glance, plus a 30-day chart of daily impressions and clicks across all campaigns. Each campaign also reports its own impressions, clicks, spend versus budget, and estimated impressions remaining, with its own 30-day delivery chart.
How does daily budgeting and pacing work?
Every campaign has a total budget and a daily budget. The daily budget caps how much can be spent in a single day, which paces delivery evenly instead of spending the whole budget at once. Once the total budget is reached the campaign completes; you can top up funds or raise budgets at any time. Spend never exceeds your available balance.
How do creatives work for advertisers?
Each campaign uses one compact creative: a 96 x 96 icon, up to 130 characters of plain text, and linked text ranges that point to your HTTPS landing page. Developers choose whether it renders as a card or banner and in light or dark mode. You can set a separate landing URL per language variant. See the full creative specs.
How does targeting work?
Campaigns are matched contextually by extension category and language — no cross-site user profiles or behavioral tracking. You pick the categories and languages you want to reach, and ads only serve into reviewed extensions that fit.
How much does it cost to start?
Minimum funding to start is $50, added through Stripe. Every campaign runs at a flat $2 CPM, so $50 buys roughly 25,000 impressions. Your available balance only updates once Stripe confirms the payment, and campaigns never spend beyond that balance.
